ABOUT ME
I live, garden, photograph and write along the central Kentucky-Tennessee border. I write with concern for my 20-something kids and all the generations that I hope follow me and them. Here's what I'll say over and over: connect to nature; know what soil smells like; plant native plants; stop spraying chemicals; and clean up the trash. I'll also say be intrigued by the natural world because it's changing and we need to remember.

When I'm not holding my camera, I'm stratifying and starting wildflowers for friends and community - growing goldenrods for the beetles, ironweed for the swallowtails, mountain mint for the wasps, Joe Pye for the moths and on and on.
